Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
Your research data is yours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we don't. Written to be read, not to require a law degree.
What We Collect
Here is what we collect and why.
Account and profile data: when you create an account, we store your email address and your workspace memberships. You may optionally provide additional profile information such as your name, organization, and role. We use passwordless authentication (magic link and single sign-on) — we do not store passwords.
Invitee email addresses: when you invite someone to your workspace, we process their email address to deliver the invitation.
Usage and technical data: we collect usage data across our domains (clarida.bio and app.clarida.bio) to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. Our infrastructure automatically logs technical data such as IP addresses and browser type for security and abuse prevention. This data is not linked to your research data.
Marketing website (clarida.bio): we may use third-party tools (e.g., LinkedIn, Google Ads) to measure advertising effectiveness. These tools may set cookies on the marketing website only.
Platform (app.clarida.bio): no third-party advertising trackers, social media pixels, or retargeting cookies are used in the authenticated platform.
Your Research Data
Your experimental data belongs to you. Clarida processes data to perform calculations and analyses. Here is how we handle it:
Data you upload or generate through the Service is stored encrypted at rest and in transit. If you use a workspace, this data is accessible to you and other members of that workspace.
No selling or sharing: we never sell, license, or share your individual research data with third parties. Your experiments, samples, and results are never disclosed.
Anonymized, aggregated insights: we may derive anonymized, aggregated statistics from collective platform usage to:
- Improve our algorithms and analysis methods
- Contribute to scientific research (e.g., reference gene stability rankings derived from thousands of experiments)
- Provide performance benchmarks to reagent manufacturers, instrument manufacturers, and in published market reports (e.g., kit performance characteristics such as amplification efficiency and reproducibility across thermal cycler platforms and geographies)
This data is statistical in nature and cannot be traced to individual users, labs, or experiments. No unpublished experimental results, sample identities, or proprietary assay designs are ever included.
Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate Clarida:
- Cloud hosting and database (EU-based)
- Authentication
- Email delivery
- Usage analytics
We select providers that meet GDPR requirements. We do not share your research data with any of these providers beyond what is technically necessary to operate the Service.
A current list of sub-processors is available upon request at info@clarida.bio.
If your organization requires a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), contact us at info@clarida.bio.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data only as long as necessary:
Account data: retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time through the Service or by contacting us.
Workspace data: experiments and analyses you create are retained while the workspace is active. If you leave a workspace, your contributions remain accessible to the workspace (governed by the workspace owner). If you delete your account, your personal information is removed and any remaining experimental data is permanently anonymized — it can no longer be attributed to you.
Anonymized aggregated data: statistical data derived from platform usage (e.g., reference gene rankings, instrument benchmarks) is retained indefinitely. This data is fully anonymized and cannot be linked to any individual user, lab, or experiment. Under GDPR, anonymized data is no longer personal data and is not subject to deletion requests.
To request deletion of your data, contact us at info@clarida.bio.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@clarida.bio. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For Belgium, this is:
Children
Clarida is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes (e.g., via email or the Service). Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
